Lana has been participating in Gordian programs for two years. When she first spoke with a Health Coach, she was worried about her high cholesterol levels. She was also overweight and had extremely high stress levels. By working closely with Gordian Health Coaches, Lana has made serious lifestyle changes that have improved all of those negative health factors.
Deciding to focus on one thing at a time, Lana spoke with a Health Coach and begant to tackle her high cholesterol. She soon learned to make small changes that affected her in a big way-cutting out trans fat, walking on the treadmill for 20 to 30 minutes four to five times a week, cutting out sodas and chips, and eating healthier snack options such as fruit or nuts. Before long, Lana's cholesterol went from 281 to 205-dropping 76 points! By lowering her high cholesterol levels, Lana decreased the risk of developing heart disease and reduced the chance of a heart attack or dying of heart disease.
Lana's lifestyle changes not only helped her lower her cholesterol, but they also helped her lower her weight by 42 pounds-putting her in a healthy weight range and reducing the risks associated with an unhealthy weight.
With her cholesterol and weight issues under control, Lana enrolled in another Gordian program last year to focus on reducing her stress levels. Although stress is still a battle for her, the insightful information from her Health Coaches and the educational material she received in the mail have helped her lower her stress levels from a 9 out of 10 to a 5 out of 10.
