Working with a Gordian Health Coach, Tom learned about lifestyle changes that could lower his cholesterol.
By the time Tom ended his program… his total cholesterol had dropped 13 points!
Two years ago, Tom had high cholesterol, increasing his risk for developing heart disease or having a heart attack. Determined not to become one of the more than a million Americans who have heart attacks each year, or one of the half a million people who die from heart disease each year, Tom turned to a Gordian Health Coach for help.
The Health Coach engaged Tom in cholesterol coaching and began educating him about lifestyle changes that could lower his cholesterol -- without Tom having to take any medication. Tom learned that he could lower his cholesterol by eating healthier and exercising regularly. He began to incorporate in his daily life the advice from his Health Coach and the information he received in educational mailings. During one call, Tom learned alternative preparation methods for his meals in order to avoid fried foods; other calls taught him to avoid trans fats and increase his fiber intake and his intake of Omega 3s and 6s. Tom's lifestyle changes really made a difference.
During his program, Tom sustained an injury that kept him from exercising regularly. However, even an injury did not put a stop to his progress. By the time Tom ended his program, all of his cholesterol levels had improved, and his total cholesterol had dropped 13 points!
By lowering his cholesterol levels, Tom decreased his risk for developing heart disease and reduced the chance of a heart attack or of dying from heart disease. With the help of Gordian Health Coaches and educational materials, Tom learned how easy it can be to make simple lifestyle changes to lead a happier, healthier, longer life.
